As the 2019-20 fantasy season winds down, we’d like to take a moment to thank the Killer Bs for their lack of preparation in regards to our matchup. Thanks to their failure to meet the weekly goalie requirements, three appearances during the week, we were able to pile up a 10-1-1 victory to end a two-game skid.
MATCHUP AND SCORES
It was almost a clean sweep for Canyon of Heroes in Week 19. Our only category loss was in goals, which we only lost by one, 11-10. We tied power-play points with five apiece.
After that, we won the other six categories by a handful of points. Assists by seven points, points and plus/minus by six, game-winning goals and hits by one, and shots on goals by 27.
Our goalies played great all week, collecting four wins to match a stellar 2.58 GAA and 0.919 Save %. We won the shutout category, even though we tied 0-0.
Even though we won thanks to their lack of execution, we were in the driver’s seat for the final days of the matchup. We want to belive that even if we weren’t handed the goalie categories, the final score would have been in our favour.
STANDINGS
Apologies for not screenshotting the standings after our week 19 matchup.
BENCH PLAYERS & TEAM STATS
In what had to be deemed the worse week of our season in terms of bench numbers, we are thankful that Jaroslav Halak’s one start didn’t count. He didn’t help the Boston Bruins survive their journey into Vancouver, where he got yanked midway through the first period en route to posting a 13.30 GAA and miserable 0.625 save %.
Apologies for not compiling the team stats after our week 19 matchup.
STUDS & DUDS
Best Player – Anders Lee – New York Islanders – 35 points
Worse Player: Brandon Carlo – Boston Bruins – 3 points

In one of the dumbest moves, a general manager can make, we cut the wrong player.
Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo was injured and not playing. When we logged in to cut ties with him, we accidentally cut New York Islander forward Derick Brassard instead.
Since we were the last team to drop him, we were not allowed to put a waiver claim in for him. In an attempt to keep him from anyone else, we posted a message to other managers to kindly help us out and allow him to go unclaimed so we can resign him.
